Management Consultant - Technical Analyst

MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT – TECHNICAL ANALYST (Permanent, Full-time)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Pollen as a technical analyst.  In this role you’ll find a home in the technology product stream but become an integral part of the wider business, thinking differently, and creating solutions specific for our clients to solve every problem. This role will develop people in both consulting practices and advanced analytical technologies:

As a consultant

You will work on projects as a Pollen consultant developing systems thinking and lean principles. You may have a project placement across any of Pollen’s product lines: Supply Chain and Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering and eCommerce. Working as a team member to deliver exceptional results to our clients from a variety of different businesses and industries.

As a technical analyst

You will be exposed to large data, digital simulations and relaying your insights to real businesses. As a member of the team, you will be tackling large datasets with BI dashboards, answering the “impossible” questions with digital simulation, and finding the patterns in data not seen by others.

Alongside this, you would act as a technology advisor, whereby you would assist in the research and proposal of new technologies to clients that are applicable today to change improve the way they conduct business.  We aim to find somebody that believes in what we do and is committed to learning new software quickly and develop thinking outside the normal way of approaching problems.

Leveraging a rapid development programme and working alongside our experienced consultants you will receive focused training to build intrinsic understanding of how to find and add value to real businesses.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivering operational improvement projects on client sites focusing on manufacturing and supply chain value streams
  • Process mapping FMCG factories and supply chains with client team
  • Development of digital twin architecture (virtual representations of physical systems) and harnessing simulation to answer questions that so far have not been able to be answered
  • Collecting and analysing data, diagnostics of processes and presenting solutions to clients
  • Generating useful analytics dashboards that provide value to the client
  • Involvement in the Sales and Marketing activity, develop proposals and presenting to clients
  • Research new technologies and advise clients on innovations relevant to them

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or another numerate / analytical degree
  • Sound knowledge of programming and coding principles (no specific language(s) required, but good understanding of logic)
  • The ability to process information and problem solve quickly, getting to the root cause. A mindset to approach every problem with a bespoke solution.
  • Propensity to learn and develop skills/concept understanding quickly
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to self-manage and take responsibility for their own projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, etc.) Excel analytical skills and rapid data manipulation a necessity.
  • Willing to conduct some travel (largely within Australia)
